i like this movie very much i enjoyed it

I was really not looking forward to viewing another kid movie but that changed after I got into it. Mothers, like myself, work hard to care for their families sometimes without any appreciation shown. The family is made up of members and each person plays a part. Without Caring Mothers, there would be a void in the family. Another thing I thought about while viewing the movie, is that we need to show our loved ones appreciation while they are with us and not cry and wish after the fact. So, as you see, some real grown up thoughts came out of what I dubbed as a "KID MOVIE". Also, my kids enjoyed our time watching this movie together.

A standing ovation for Disney as they (atypically) put out a movie with positive messages about not only family in general, but parents specifically. Rather than looking like fools, parents are appreciated and honored in this film. I'm still shaking my head at the fact that it is a Disney movie. If your child has a mother, he or she should see this movie. It doesn't have the flash and clever marketing of other current movie offerings, but it is entertaining, funny at times, heartfelt at others and is, in the end, a great movie. My 5 and 7 year olds were hooked from beginning to end. The 12 year old was restless in the middle, but everyone left the theater saying that their expectations had been exceeded. The kids even mentioned how "good" the movie was and that it had lots of "positive messages". It was a much better kid-friendly choice than Rango. Will this movie thrill the parents? The action might not, but the messages your kids take away definitely will!

Looking for more than an occasional laugh at toilet humor or jokes you hope your kids won't understand? Want to take your kids to a movie with positive messages and no gratuitous profanity or stupidity? This movie is for you! And your kids! Highly recommended for ages up to 10. Older kids may find it a little slow in the middle portions, as may adults. But, in the end, it is a great family movie that will entertain kids and remind them of the value of people who love and care about you (i.e. parents).

It's been a long time since I've so thoroughly enjoyed a movie all my children could watch. Even movies geared towards kids often have a vile villain, or scary fight scenes. While there was suspense, it never got to a nightmare-inducing level. Besides the obvious coolness factors of a boy getting to go to Mars, and the common 'What if there was no parents' themes, the movie highlights healthy, honest discourse between a loving, but firm mother and ever-striving-for-just-a-little-more-independence son. Watching with my own 9 year old son brought tears to my eyes as we both realized our flaws are not born from lack of love for each other, but from how we are both still trying to figure life out. What a reflection of our society, where we are told men are useless and can be disposed of, that women would be better off without them. It is a redemptive tail of unity, family, and justice. It also touches on cross-cultural and age themes. SEE for yourself just how good it is!!!
